The thrift store is located on West Broad Street. It is a Greene County Christian Outreach Project. The thrift store is staffed by several paid employees who receive, price, and display donated, gently used household items and clothing. Many area churches send volunteers there on a rotating basis during the hours it is open to the public (Thursday 10-2, Friday 10-4, Saturday 10-2). The money earned goes to help people referred by various agencies and churches who need aid in paying a bill, clothes for job hunting, replacement items and clothing for those who have lost their possessions, etc. The church volunteers work as cashiers, merchandise baggers, and shoppers’ aides. This store has been in its current location for many years, but it had operated in other places before the move.
